First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my introduction. My name is Richard Boyanton – I am 68 years old, have raised over three sets of kids, and have been married to my beloved wife, Grace, for over 48 years.
While I now enjoy the fortune of having a wonderful family and my own small business, things weren't always so easy for me. At the age of seventeen, with nothing more than the clothes on my back and the name I was given, I ran away from home to join the Army and become a paratrooper in the 82ndAirborne Division. At age eighteen, an age in which one ought to be preoccupied with things like which college to attend or who to ask out to prom, I was trudging through the jungles of Vietnam with the 101st Airborne. During my service, I received a Purple Heart and numerous other decorations.
After finishing my service in the military, I started my own business. I am and always have been a businessman, in fact, the gene seems to run in the Boyanton family. My father was a businessman and an inventor and held several patents. He, along with my brothers and myself, started the only publication in the fencing industry at the time (which we later sold). Following in the family footsteps, I have a patent to my name and am the owner of two small businesses – Scott Fence Company and Boyanton Industries.
Aside from my entrepreneurship and military service to our great country, I also take pride that the children I have raised have grown up to become successful, productive citizens. For example, my oldest grandson, attended Saint Stanislaus high school in Bay St. Louis, MS. He is fluent in both Chinese and Japanese. After graduating top of his class in economics at NYU, he completed his master's degree from Yale University and is now in Japan doing research on US-China-Japan relations via scholarship. As the oldest of eight kids whose parents could barely provide bread on the table each day, I take great pride to watch the kids I raised achieve great things and take advantages of the opportunities I never had.
Freedom of religion in public Buildings and schools should not be infringed upon. The Bill of Rights does not suggest a Government which is to be absent of religion. It clearly provides for freedom of religion including, displays of symbols and right to Prayer.
Elected government officials, have no authority to in any way, abridge, modify, or Impede the specifics of Our Constitution. The only way that our founding Document can be in any way altered, is the Process of amendment and ratification.
The United States of America is a land of opportunity, for its citizens and those who follow the prescribed process of becoming a citizen. That process does include the Illegal entry across our borders, for the purpose of Taking advantage and Abusing, our tendencies to be benevolent to those of need. Those who have entered this country, through illegal measures as well as those who would entice the illegal entry into our nation, must be held accountable for their actions. Those who are here by the criminal act of Border Crossing must be removed from our country. Those who would entice border invasions to occur, by offering undocumented employment or unqualified access to social assistant services, should also be held accountable and subject to prosecution, as the Law allows.
The government should in no way establish impairments to the right of All Americans to participate in, what is the greatest, economic, and capitalist society. Wealth in this great Nation should be not be determined by Government favor. The creation of wealth for citizens and their posterity is best if determined by personal effort and endeavor.
Civil Rights allude to the fact as stated in our Founding Documents, that, “all men are created equal.” I believe these truths are self-evident.
The key word in’ Civil Rights” is “Civil”. True and unfettered Civil Rights, can only be accomplished when accompanied by “ Civil Responsibility. “
No Nation can enjoy the rewards of civil society, unless each member of that society, recognize and respect the independent sovereignty, of each citizen, with respect to personal beliefs and practices.
Note* We have some issues in the area of civil behavior, in our society. Are there issues to be tackled? Sure. However, the first and most required element of any approach to civil postures, must, must, must be pursued with Civil (Polite and respectful deliberation and action.)
Implementing 12-year term limits for Congress would eliminate most of the problems in DC. If counting correctly, almost half of the members of Congress would be gone. All the leadership positions would be held by other people. So if you want to make a big difference in the country lets vote term limits.
